Will I have to pay taxes in Wyoming?

Asked by: Antoine  — 24 March, 2012

As a Canadian operating an online business, if I form a LLC in Wyoming, will I have to pay any taxes in Wyoming?

Thank you

Dear Antoine,

Wyoming has no income tax, and it only has sales tax on tangible items sold in the state. So even if you have any Wyoming-based buyers for your information products (as I understand from your previous question that is what your business would be selling) you wouldn’t need to collect sales tax on those sales.

Keep in mind though that if you produce income in the US you would be required to file federal tax return and pay the tax to the IRS.
